Craniosacral Therapy (CST) & Acupressure in Cranberry Township

Craniosacral Therapy (CST)

Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, non-invasive form of bodywork that focuses on the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. CST aims to support the body's natural healing processes.

During a CST session, you will lie fully clothed on a massage table. The therapist uses light touch to assess and gently manipulate the craniosacral system. A typical session lasts between 60-90 minutes. Most clients find the experience deeply relaxing, and it's not uncommon to fall asleep during the session. Some clients may experience a release of emotions or a feeling of lightness and increased energy following the therapy.

CST is beneficial for a wide range of conditions, including but not limited to:

  •      Chronic pain

  •     Stress and tension-related disorders

  •     Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction

  •     Fibromyalgia and other connective-tissue disorders

  •     Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and trauma

  •     Autism and learning difficulties

  •     Central nervous system disorders

Acupressure

Massage Therapy in Cranberry Township

Acupressure is an ancient healing practice derived from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It involves applying gentle pressure to specific points on the body, known as acupoints, to stimulate the body's natural self-healing processes. Acupressure is based on the same principles as acupuncture but uses finger pressure instead of needles.

During an acupressure session, you will lie fully clothed on a massage table. The therapist will apply firm yet gentle pressure to specific acupoints using their fingers, palms, elbows, or specialized tools. A session usually lasts between 60-90 minutes. While the pressure should not cause pain, you may feel a slight discomfort or a tingling sensation at the acupoints. Many clients experience immediate relaxation and relief from tension during and after the session.

Acupressure can be beneficial for nearly any condition, including but not limited to:

  • Chronic pain (e.g., headaches, migraines, back pain, and arthritis)

  • Stress and anxiety

  • Digestive issues (e.g., nausea, constipation, and indigestion)

  • Menstrual cramps and other gynecological issues

  • Insomnia and other sleep disorders

  • Respiratory issues (e.g., asthma and allergies)

  • Boosting overall immune function and energy levels

Acupressure is a versatile therapy that can be used alongside other treatments to enhance overall well-being and promote natural healing.
